Advocating for Change, and the Resulting New Weed Ordinance for Louisville

| General

Kentucky Resources Council (KRC) in talks about advocating for environmental change invited Margaret Carreiro out, August 2022, to describe how, with Wild Ones in the lead, we all worked together to get a new Weed Ordinance passed in Louisville.

KRC described talk: Professor Carreiro is retired from the Department of Biology at the University of Louisville where she was a faculty member for 18 years. Her research focused on understanding how urban environments affect nature in cities and suburbs. Hear her story of how she, along with her peers, fought back against Louisville, Kentucky’s outdated weeds ordinance that penalized pollinator yards and achieved positive change.
